HARARE – A damning audio message has confirmed the widely-held view that independent Norton Member of Parliament, Temba Mliswa, actually works for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
In the audio, Mliswa himself reveals his close links with Mnangagwa and his family, even revealing the legislator’s hand in the coup that ushered Mnangagwa to power and in keeping him there.
Mliswa, for long suspected to be close friends with Mnangagwa, is heard lampooning one of Mnangagwa’s sons for disrespecting him. He also accused Emmerson Junior, another Mnangagwa son, of shaming the first family with his extramarital affair with socialite, Pokello Nare.
Mliswa, a relative of both the Mnangagwas and fallen Zanla commander Josiah Tongogara, accused all three of First Lady Auxillia’s sons of refusing to listen to his advice, meant to safeguard the interests of the First Family.
“What I would not like is a situation where we put into disrepute the office of the President, the office of the First Lady and the Mnangagwa family,” says Mliswa in the audio.
“I’m your uncle and I try and talk to you guys that we must always meet and talk, but you don’t want to do that and you think listening to people who’ll give you money is of more value.”
Mliswa, who claims to have played a role in putting Mnangagwa in power when other people now doing business with the President’s sons were fighting against them, told Emerson Junior that he must dump Pokello as soon as she has aborted his child.
Mliswa also recorded Emmerson Junior talking so that he could keep the audio to push his own factional agendas.
The legislator claims he is the one making sure Mnangagwa remains in power and that Auxilia is able to do her deals, but accuses the Mnangagwa sons of ignoring his advice that they should not involve themselves with a man he calls “Chief” unless he proves he has “repented”, because he would create problems for them.
“When you are in trouble it us who run around. Even now I am still running around,” charges Mliswa.
