Maritzburg United could offload two more players as their off-season reshaping gathers steam following the signings of Judas Moseamedi and Kwanda Mngonyama.
Defender Siyanda Xulu and midfielder Yannick Zakri are now deemed surplus to requirements following the departures of Siphesihle Ndlovu and Fortune Makaringe to Orlando Pirates.
A source close to Maritzburg says Xulu could also link up with Cape Town City following their acquisition of Mngonyama, with Zakri’s exit already decided according to reports.
“Farook [Kadodia] is currently at work, the club is looking at beefing up and cleaning the team ahead of next season,” the source tells KickOff.com.
“Zakri is another player who will leave and Siyanda Xulu, who is set to join Cape Town City on a different deal.”
This website understands that Xulu is wanted by Citizens coach Benni McCarthy but his salary could be a stumbling block to the move.
Earlier this month, the Maritzburg chairman promised to make changes at the club, working closely with Eric Tinkler, and it seems their relationship with City is reaping rewards. Kickoff.com
