CAF Champions League: Sundowns want Wydad game moved
Mamelodi Sundowns are making frantic efforts to have their CAF Champions League semifinal game against Wydad Casablanca moved a day later to next week Saturday.
CAF has scheduled the first leg at the Stade Mohammed V Stadium next week Friday. The Brazilians are set to host Free State Stars next week Tuesday and would only be left with two days to travel to Morocco.
CAF recently granted Al Ahly the chance to push their match against Sundowns a day later than scheduled after the Egyptian side played a domestic game in midweek before travelling to South Africa.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that they have asked to play on Saturday instead of Friday.
“Wyad are aware that we are playing on Tuesday and the game is on Friday. We are trying to get the match played on Saturday,” said Mosimane.
Sundowns, who were beaten 2-0 by SuperSport United in the Tshwane Derby last night, are set to travel to Limpopo to face Baroka FC in a league game this weekend. Kickoff.com
