SuperSport United coach Kaitano Tembo has urged midfielder George Lebese not to put himself under pressure when they meet Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday.
Lebese will face Sundowns for the first time since he moved to United in January this year. The former Kaizer Chiefs winger has joined Matsatsantsa on a six-month loan deal from The Brazilians after enduring the frustration of a lack of game-time at Chloorkop.
Tembo has urged Lebese to play his normal game if gets an opportunity to meet his parent team in the Tshwane Derby. “If he gets an opportunity he must play his normal game and not put himself under pressure. Probably pressure can come from him putting himself under pressure but for us it’s like any other game,” said Tembo.
“If he puts the same performance he displayed against Polokwane City that’s all we need, that’s all we are looking for, that’s why he is here with us. “I am happy the way he played against Polokwane City, he played very well and I hope if he gets an opportunity to play on Wednesday that he plays the same way he played on Sunday.
“But it’s not about him proving a point but about him going out there and playing. Not putting himself under pressure, because when you start putting yourself under pressure you start making mistakes and we don’t want him to do that. We want him to relax and play his normal game.”
Kick-off for the Tshwane Derby is at 19h30.
