Twitter was flooded with messages of support for foreign nationals left homeless and destitute after xenophobic attacks which erupted in Durban this week.
The attacks started on Tuesday night after local residents raided the homes of foreign nationals, forcing them to move out with no place to sleep.
Sydenham police station housed more than 100 people displaced from their homes. KZN police spokesperson Lt-col Thulane Zwane confirmed this, and said no serious incidents had been reported.
On Wednesday morning, 20 people sought shelter from a mosque in Crescent Street in Overport, Durban, after they were attacked at Jadhu Place informal settlement in Springfield Park.
People have criticised the attacks on social network Twitter and united in prayer for those affected. TimesLive
