Chairman of Nedbank Cup champions TS Galaxy, Tim Sukazi, is worried that they may lose some of their players to PSL clubs that will be looking to reinforce their squads ahead of the 2019/20 season.
Galaxy had a fairytale run to Nedbank Cup glory and a number of players stood out during the competition, including exciting left back Terrence Mashego who has revealed that he is ready to play in the top flight.
“We are not a club that will stand in a player’s way. We will apply our minds as a collective, as we always do, and decisions together with the player concerned,” Sukazi told South African soccer magazine KickOff.com.
“You can see how special this club is and I worry that they are wanted by other clubs, but they want to be here. They want to be in this environement. But that’s a difficult one because I say to them “we don’t have what PSL clubs can offer you and you have a future’. So they are sitting with that dilemma because they don’t know whether or not to leave the club. They can see that this club will go to the PSL and will be one of the biggest one day, so they ask themselves ‘how do I leave a club like this?’
“There’s one player, who I won’t name, who came to be in the dressing room after the game and said ‘how I can leave a club like this?’ It’s a dilemma, but we don’t have the resources of the top teams in the PSL.”
