Volkswagen Group grooms new generation of South African entrepreneurs

JOHANNESBURG – Volkswagen Group South Africa has, in partnership with the Young Entrepreneurs organisation, this week presented a holiday programme aimed at grooming the youth in entrepreneurship.

This came as the VWSA’s Community Trust hosted a four-day entrepreneurship programme in the spirit of Youth month, which saw 52 children under the age of 14 take part in the various activities planned to teach them about how to start a business.

“At VWSA, we believe everyone should play a role in securing the future of our youth, and it is a responsibility we take seriously, our partnership with Young Entrepreneurs is an important one, as the children we are teaching today could become the employers of tomorrow,” said Volkswagen Group South Africa Chairman and Managing Director, Thomas Schaefer. “It is our goal to empower the youth through various initiatives and organisations, by preparing them for a bright future.”

The young entrepreneurs were shown how to design a logo for their business to how to produce products from recycled materials which were sold on Market Day at the end of the programme.
